Demands for low-carbon sources of energy mean that governments are crafting policy and committing funds to biomass, and businesses are making decisions and allocating their resources. The biomass industry is changing as quickly as it grows, and it therefore remains crucial to share information and to highlight best practices, challenges and successes.
Following an evening for information and networking, Mr. Colin Anderson of the Ontario Power Authority will provide a keynote address to begin a full day of panels.
Speakers will discuss:
- the current financial context for the biomass industry;
- technologies and successes on both the biomass supply side and on the biomass-to-energy conversion side;
- the policy and business context within which demand will grow, including the US Energy and Security Act and the Ontario Green Energy and Green Economy Act, and the emerging structures for pricing carbon.
Again this year panel chairs and speakers will be drawn from government, industry and academe. Organizers anticipate the same stellar mix of conference participants.
