Ontario: microFIT Program Rules & microFIT Contract
From the Ontario Power Authority:
The Ontario Power Authority has been developing a streamlined approach to small renewable energy projects under the umbrella of the proposed Feed-in Tariff (FIT) Program.
The microFIT Program is designed to encourage and support small renewable energy projects that are 10 kilowatts or less in generating capacity.
The draft microFIT Program Rules and microFIT Contract are now available for stakeholder review on the Ontario Power Authority’s website at the following link: http://www.powerauthority.on.ca/FIT/Page.asp?PageID=122&ContentID=10437&SiteNodeID=1039&BL_ExpandID=
Note that there will be a modified microFIT Contract for load-embedded (i.e., projects connected in series behind a consumer’s meter) microFIT projects and for incremental microFIT projects. The OPA is presently drafting these contracts and will post them as soon as possible.
You are encouraged to review these documents to better understand the current design of the microFIT Program.
Comments and feedback on these draft microFIT Rules, are welcome until Friday, August 28, 2009, and must be provided through the Submission tool: http://www.powerauthority.on.ca/FIT/Page.asp?PageID=1226&SiteNodeID=1043, on the Power Authority’s FIT website. Please note that you must be registered and logged in with the FIT website to make a submission.
