    This Plan provides a context for climate change and air quality issues within the City, proposes both a Corporate and Community target for greenhouse gas emission reduction and outlines the measures the City should undertake to reach this target.

  • Cornwall Carbon Reduction Initiative

    The local idea, being spearheaded by former city councillor Naresh Bhargava, is to come up with a list of different actions residents and business can take to reduce carbon emissions. The actions - though not finalized yet - could include everything from using energy-efficient lightbulbs to cutting back on dryer usage. Each action would have a calculated carbon savings.

  • Electric Vehicle Council of Ottawa (EVCO)

    EVCO is a non-profit, incorporated organization dedicated to promoting the use of electric vehicles in applications where they are appropriate.

  • Lanark Highlands | Integrated Sustainable Community Plan

    This project will build on the success of the document entitled “The Highlands We Want in the Year 2020” which was completed in 1999 in collaboration with the North Lanark County Community Health Centre.

  • Mississippi Valley Field Naturalists | Climate Change Awareness Project

    MVFN started exploration of climate change during the 2005-06 speaker series which focused on the theme “Change in our Natural World” . This series presented important background information on changes in climate, nature, and the environment. We also began collecting data on aspects of the local and natural environment that may be climate sensitive. We hope to continue to involve members as well as the public and groups in the community in observing changes in local phenomena, and in recording and sharing the information.

    Sustainable Ottawa Community Energy Co-Op is a community based non-profit organization. Our mission is to make sustainable technologies, products and services more accessible and economically viable to people within the NCR. We do so through increasing public awareness of sustainable energy technologies (i.e. solar and wind), and by using the collective bargaining power of the Co-Op to reduce the cost of sustainable energy technologies for members of the Co-Op and the public.
