Cornwall to Participate in Earth Hour on March 26

Cornwall Mayor Bob Kilger is encouraging citizens and local businesses to join him in participating in Earth Hour on Saturday, March 26, at 8:30 p.m.
Earth Hour is a global movement working to call attention to climate change, energy consumption, and sustainability. On Earth Hour, hundreds of millions of people, along with businesses and organizations, around the world will focus on this issue by turning off their lights for an hour. Famous landmarks around the globe also will turn off their lights.
"By participating in Earth Hour, we show that we can all be part of the solution to help reduce our impact on the environment" says Mayor Bob Kilger. "At the City we have been taking consistent steps to reduce our impact on the environment and save taxpayer dollars. Earth Hour supports our philosophy of environmental stewardship. Together the City and the residents can work together to make an impact."
Earth Hour Candlelight Vigil
Areas residents are invited to attend an Earth Hour Candlelight Vigil in front of Brockville City Hall on Saturday from 8:00pm to 9:30pm. Contingents from all clubs and associations as well as individual residents are encouraged to gather to commemorate Earth Hour and support action to combat climate change.
"Earth Hour, is so much more than a just symbolic gesture - it is a global movement of individuals, like you and me, to focus attention on the need for action on climate change" said Federal Green candidate, Mary Slade.

At 8.30pm on Saturday, March 27 some of the world’s most recognised symbols of hope, peace, human endeavour and natural wonder will plunge into darkness for Earth Hour as a powerful sign of the unrelenting resolve of the global community to respond to the threat of climate change.

Kingston: Lights out for Earth Hour

Kingston will turn out the lights Saturday, March 28 between 8:30 and 9:30 p.m., when cities and residents around the world take part in Earth Hour, a global event to acknowledge humanity’s impact on climate change.
But we’ll be doing this with some off-the-grid music.
