Federal demonstration projects to receive $146 million

Nineteen successful projects have been selected in response to a call for proposals under the Renewable and Clean Energy portion of the Clean Energy Fund. Up to $146 million will be invested over five years in these projects to support renewable, clean energy and smart grid demonstrations with evidence of collaboration among partners and the potential to reduce barriers to technology implementation.

Citizens from Kingston and surrounding areas attended a meeting at the St. Lawrence College last night (Feb. 3), organized by the SWITCH Kingston and the Ontario Sustainable Energy Association. The presentation was a preview of what these organizations anticipated seeing in the Green Energy Act, which Premier Dalton McGuinty announced on February 3, will be tabled later in the month.
Home owner energy workshops - Survey
A group of SWITCH (Kingston) members are working to organize a Renewable Energy How-To Workshop for home owners. We would like to gauge your interest in the types of renewable energy projects that you have (or have not) considered and find out what areas we should focus our efforts on for this workshop.

Tim Angus says he can't help but smirk every time the price of a barrel of oil shoots up a few dollars.
"It's funny to work at a company where people are rubbing their palms when they ask, `Hey, did you hear what oil is at today?' "
It's not that Angus likes paying more to fill up his car, or likes seeing the economy suffer under the grip of inflation, caused by the rapid rise in fossil fuel prices. It's that Angus, president and chief executive officer of Ottawa-based Thermal Energy International Inc., is in the business of helping companies use their fuel more efficiently.
